CME 5/12/13: Acute Visual Loss

Here is our friendly ophthalmologist Sendhil’s talk on acute visual loss. Note his advice on initial examination – first check red reflex (abnormality suggests pathology in anterior or posterior segments of the eye) then check for afferent pupillary defect (if present suggests optic nerve dysfunction or gross retinal pathology, if absent then suggests macular or limited retinal pathology).
